Dirty Looks HK Hair Extensions

A few weeks ago I was contacted by Dirty Looks and asked if I'd like to review a set of their HK hair extensions*. I always wear a hair piece or extensions at the weekend or on a night out because I like to add volume to my fine hair so I'm always up for trying new products. I'd already heard great thinks about Dirty Looks extensions from other bloggers so was excited to receive them. You might have already seen a few photos on Instagram and Twitter of me wearing them as I've already had them in every weekend since I got them.

The HK extensions are full head, remy human hair and come with 10 wefts including a quad weft. They come in 21 colours and 4 lengths so there's bound to be something that suits you. The shade I was matched to is called 'Butterscotch Blonde Highlighted' and I got the 16"-18" inch so that they were the same length as my natural hair. I always find it hard to get extensions that match my hair well as there's so many different colours of highlights and lowlights in it but when these arrived I was amazed at how perfect the colour was.

When my extensions arrived in the post, they didn't come in typical hair extension packaging. Instead they were in a pretty purple box which I love as I always find it hard to store my extensions in the plastic packaging they usually come in. The other great thing is that there is a test piece of hair to make sure it's the correct colour match. So many times I've opened extensions and then can't send them back when the colour isn't right so Dirty Looks are definitely ahead of the game when it comes to this.

As I said before, the extensions come with 10 wefts of hair including one quad weft (4 wefts sewn together). I feel that 10 wefts is a lot so when I've been going out I've only been putting in the quad weft, the 3 clip, two of the 2 clips and two of the 1 clip pieces (6 in total). This gives me so much extra volume without having to add the rest of the pieces, even just the quad on its own makes a huge difference. The quality of the hair is amazing and as it's human it can be washed and styled just the same as your natural hair. I also usually need to curl my hair to wear extensions as it blends them better but with the Dirty Looks extensions I can wear them straight because the length and colour looks so natural.

In the bottom photos I'm wearing the extensions but to see my hair natural you can look at the photos in my previous post. These are definitely the best extensions I've tried so far in terms of colour and quality. The full set of HK extensions cost between £87.49 and £142.49 depending on which length you go for but they are currently on sale at the moment starting at £69.99. If you're interested in a new set of extensions you can buy them online here. You can also follow Dirty Looks on Twitter and Instagram: @DTYLOOKS.

L'Oreal Collection Privee Lipstick by Cheryl

Even though I own about 10 nude lipsticks I've always struggled to find the perfect shade for me. Because my skin tone is a bit darker, most nudes are far too pale for me/make me look like I've got concealer lips, so when L'Oreal brought out their Collection Privee range of nudes to suit different skin tones I decided to give them a try. There are 6 different shades each with their own celebrity ambassador; Julianne Moore, Frida Pinto, Doutzen Kroes, Eva Longoria, Cheryl Cole and Liya Kebede.

I decided to go for Cheryl's nude because we have quite similar colouring (ok it was mainly because I love Cheryl). Cheryl's nude is described as 'barely greige' with grey/pink tones. It's quite a brown nude which I really liked as it's slightly darker than my lips. The formula is sheer and smooth and the shimmer particles give it a glossy finish. I also really love the black and gold packaging with Cheryl's signature on it. It looks quite expensive for being a drugstore lipstick.

I think I've definitely found the perfect nude for me and as you can see by the photo it's well loved. I think these lipsticks are a great idea if like me you struggle to find a nude that suits you. The Collection Privee lipsticks cost £8.19 and you can buy them in Boots. What's your favourite nude lipstick?

P.S You might have noticed that I've got a new hairstyle. I fancied a change but didn't want to change my colour so decided to get a fringe, what do you think?

Just Juices 3 Day Detox

Over Christmas all I did was eat and drink and ended up putting on a bit of weight so when January came around I decided I had to get back to my healthy eating. I'd seen a lot of bloggers tweet about juice detoxes and after doing some research decided they would be a good way to kick start my healthy eating. I looked at a few different companies and settled on Just Juices as I liked the sound of theirs the best. I followed them on twitter and they sent me an email giving me all the details of their 3 and 5 day detoxes and I decided on 3 days as I don't think I could have lasted for 5. They then sent my juices out for then next Tuesday ready for me to start my detox on the Wednesday.

Just Juices sends you 12 juices (4 for each day), a morning shot, a lemon and herbal tea bags as part of your detox. Every morning you start off with a shot of the wake up juice and a hot lemon water to kick start your metabolism and help your body burn fat, then throughout the day you have 4 of the juices that tell you when to drink them on the label. You can also drink as much lemon water and herbal tea throughout the day as you like.

'Boost It' 10am

Boost It is a super green juice that removes the toxins from your body and boosts your energy levels. It's made up of Apples, Pineapples, Spinach, Cucumber, Courgette, Fennel, Sugar Snap Peas and Lime. I think this was my least favourite out of all the 4 juices but it was definitely still drinkable.

'Beet It' 1pm

Beet It cleanses your liver, boosts your immune system and reduces high blood pressure containing Beetroot, Carrots, Ginger, Basil and Blackberries. I didn't think I would like this one but it was actually really nice and the beetroot wasn't too over powering.

'Feel It' 4pm

Feel It is full of vitamins and minerals and is a natural antihistamine and decongestant. Its made of Oranges, Carrots, Ginger, Grapefruit and Mint and was my favourite out of all of the juices.

'Love It' 7pm

Love It is the only all fruit drink and gives you the good fats that you need. It has Banana, Apples, Raspberries, Blackberries, Natural Yoghurt and Mixed Seeds in it and was also one of my favourites and really easy to drinks.

On the first day I thought I was going to struggle and feel hungry but the juices kept me full and by the end of day one I already felt much healthier. When I woke up in the morning my stomach was really flat and I still wasn't feeling too hungry but by the end of the day I felt like I needed something to chew on and snacked on some homemade kale chips which are healthy anyway. On the final day I was used to just having my four juices to drink that I was even getting quite full after them and waited longer in between juices.

At the end of the detox I felt amazing and so much healthier, I also lost a total of 6lb over the 3 days which is a great kick start to my healthy eating. Now I'm back to eating healthy and my typical days diet is porridge, soup or a salad and salmon or chicken with vegetables. I've got 6 months before I get into my bikini in Marbella and having a holiday booked is motivating me to keep exercising and eating healthy.

Overall it was quite difficult but if you have the motivation to stick to it it's worth it. I'd definitely do a Just Juices detox again. It costs £69 for the 3 day course and you can follow Just Juices on twitter for more information - @JustJuicesUK. Have you ever done a juice detox or are thinking about doing one?

P.S Sorry about the photos, I forgot to take some with my camera and these are from Instagram.

What I Got For Christmas: Beauty Edition

I'm hoping to get my blogging mojo back in 2014 and start posting regularly again but to ease myself back into it I thought I'd write about some of the beauty bits I got for Christmas.

I wasn't sure what I wanted this year and since I didn't ask for any 'big' presents I wrote my mum a list of some beauty bits that I'd had my eye on for a while. My Mum and Dad ended up getting me a new Armani Luminous Silk foundation as I'd ran out and it's my favourite foundation for going out at night and special occasions. Dior is my favourite high end brand for mascaras, especially the original Diorshow so I wanted to try the Iconic Overcurl as I'd heard good things about it and so far I'm loving it. I also got the Emma Hardie Amazing Face Cleansing Balm which I've wanted for ages but couldn't justify spending that much on a cleanser. The present I was most excited about was the Tom Ford Shade and Illuminate palette, I've always wanted some Tom Ford makeup and thought this would be the perfect addition as I love to contour - watch out for a full review on this ASAP!

From my sister I got some new MAC eyeshadows to add to my palette: Nylon, All That Glitters, Mulch and Carbon and I already had Naked Lunch, Woodwinked and Satin Taupe. I can't wait to fill up this palette with other gorgeous neutral MAC eye shadows, any recommendations?! My friends Samantha and Emma got me some Barry M and Topshop bits. Barry M Gelly's are the best drugstore nail polish and Topshop cream blushers are my favourite - they know me too well!!

Every time I go into House of Fraser I go to the Jo Malone counter and smell all the perfumes so Christmas was the perfect time to ask for one. I finally decided on Nectarine Blossom and Honey which smells amazing, but there are so many amazing scents I can't wait to add more to my collection. I also got the Enrapture Totem Styler which I know a lot of you have. I used it today for the first time and was really impressed and as I hardly ever wear my hair straight, these have definitely replaced my GHD's (which are broken anyway).

As well as beauty bits I also got some new clothes, converse and the usual things like pyjamas and money. Oh, I also treated myself to the Michael Kors Mini Selma bag which I'll do a post on soon. I was well and truly spoiled again this Christmas. If you've done a 'What I Got For Christmas' post please leave the link below as I love reading them!

Lauren's Way Darker Than Dark Tanning Range

Due to starting a new job with crazy long hours on top of busy weekends I haven't been able to find time to blog over the past month. However, I'm finally back with a post about one of  my favourite products to blog about: fake tan.

Lauren's Way tan* by Lauren Goodger is a tan I've used for a couple of years, I started off using the Glam Tan which you can see me wearing here (a long time ago) but after trying a sample of the Darker Than Dark tan I got in a goody bag it soon replaced Glam Tan as my favourite. After I used up the samples I never got round to buying a full size bottle so when I was offered to review the range I jumped at the chance.

Lauren's Way tan is blended with cocoa, rose petal, jasmine and passion flower and the hint of citrus gives it a sort of orange scent which I really like. It comes in both a mousse and a lotion so you can choose which formula you prefer, personally I prefer mousse as I think it's easier and faster to apply. Before I apply my tan I like to go for a shower and exfoliate using exfoliating gloves and a body scrub to make sure most of my old tan has came off and also to buff away any dry skin. I then moisturise paying particular attention to my elbows and knees then I apply the tan to both my face and body using a tanning mitt. I always use a mitt to apply my tan as I think it helps make it nice and even and also I'm not left with orange palms.

As you can probably tell by the name, the Darker Than Dark tan is the darkest in the range and is a great option if you have an olive skin tone and prefer an intense colour. Also, make sure you're an experienced tanner as it's very dark! I've used fake tan since I was about 13 (yes, really) and apply it 3 times a week so this is perfect for me. I usually only use the Darker Than Dark tan for the weekend and a slightly lighter one for during the week. You can also get medium and dark shades if you prefer a more natural colour or don't wear fake tan often.

If you want to see photos of my wearing Darker Then Dark tan I'm wearing it here and here. I love this particular shade as I only need to apply it once and I'm ready to go! I usually put it on at night then wash off the guide colour in the morning which isn't very good for my white bed sheets but the guide colour is a bit too dark to wear out of the house! You can wash it off within 4-8 hours so if you're having a day in the house then you could also put it on then.

The 150ml of mousse costs £19.95* and the 250ml of lotion costs £17.95* and you can buy them online here. I usually spend an average of £20 on fake tan so this is the perfect price for me. Overall, this is still one of my favourite fake tans and if like me you love a deep, dark tan then I really recommend it.
