Neon Acid Wash Nails

Recently on a few beauty blogs I've seen acid wash nails and decided to give it a go! I've gave it my own little spin by using a neon which is a must have at the moment.

What You Need:

  • 2 nail polishes the same colour, but different shades
  • Cotton wool
  • Nail polish remover
  • Clear top coat

The two polishes I used were Nina Ultra Pro in 'Fuschia Rage and Nicki Minaj for O.P.I in 'Pink Friday'.
I created the look firstly by painting my nails with Fuschia Rage and leaving them to dry then putting on a coat of Pink Friday. Once my nails were fully dry, I soaked the cotton wool in nail polish remover and dabbed it on my nails to create the acid wash effect. I then finished off with a clear top coat. I found this really quick and easy to do and I really like the effect it's given. So if you want to try something different on your nails and don't have much spare time, I definitely recommend you have a go!
Have you tried acid wash nails?

Revlon Lip Butter: Lollipop

I thought I'd do a little post on my favourite lipstick at the moment. I had been wanting to try the Revlon Lip Butters for a while so I was so grateful when then the lovely Daniella kindly send me one after winning the full range in a Twitter competition. The one Daniella sent me is called Lollipop, which is a lovely dark pink. I didn't have a lipstick this colour so was very happy when I saw how gorgeous the shade was. I usually find lipsticks quite drying on my lips but the lip butters have a creamy formula so are very moisturising, just like a lip balm. I' am finding myself  using this more than any of my other lipsticks at the moment. I wear it all day at work and only have to top it up a couple of times a day. It's also a great shade for night time! The only downside is that you don't get much in it and it will probably run out quite quickly. However, I will be purchasing this product again and trying some of the other shades. They cost £7.99 and can be purchased here.
What's your opinion on the hyped-up Revlon Lip Butters?

New Look Wedges

I recently purchased a gorgeous new pair of wedges from New Look at a bargain price of £24.99. New Look is definitely my favourite place on the high street to buy shoes as I think they are great value for money. They also come in Fuscia, Black and Oatmeal, but I went for the orange as it's my favourite colour. I wore them to a friends birthday and love wearing wedges on nights out as they are so much comfier than heels. I'll probably take them to Ibiza with me but let's hope the weather picks up so I can wear them here!

Lush Sugar Lip Scrub

I've always had really dry lips and am constantly applying lip balm. I also found that lipstick doesn't apply very well to chapped lips, so I was in need of a quick fix! The other week I went in to Lush for a browse (as you do) and saw the lip scrubs at the till point. I've heard a few bloggers mention this product and really wanted to try it.
There was three flavours: 'Bubblegum' which obviously smells of bubblegum, 'Sweet Lips' which smells of chocolate and vanilla and 'Mint Julips' which is mint and chocolate. I went for the Bubblegum as I loved the smell and it was pink!
It has fresh ingredients including Castor Sugar and Organic Jojoba Oil and after scrubbing and buffing, definitely made my lips a lot smoother. You know how you get those beauty products that smell so good you could eat them?...Well once you've scrubbed your lips, you just lick the excess off! (if you want). This is a really great product to use before applying your lip balm or lipstick and it will last for ages, so is definitely worth the £4.95 price tag. I've been using it for a couple of weeks and have hardly made a dent in it!

My Mum & my friend Jacqueline did my hair inspired by a picture of Jessica Alba

Last Night I had the great opportunity to attend The 7th Annual Scottish Fashion Awards. My university is one of the sponsors and gave the Fashion students complimentary tickets.

The awards were at the Clyde Auditorium in Glasgow and hosted by the lovely Alexa Chung. When we arrived we got to walk down the red carpet and get a few pictures taken. There was catwalk shows and musical performances from Amy Winehouse's Goddaughter, Dionne Bromfield and Tallia Storm who had just performed with Elton John the night before. There was also guest presenters such as model David Gandy (yum) and Millie Mackintosh.

It was amazing getting to see fashion legends such as Christopher Kane and Stella Tennant winning their awards. It was also great to see all the new and up coming Scottish designers. The awards ended with a gorgeous and exclusive Swarovski catwalk show and we moved on to the after party.

The after party was at the Blythswood Square Hotel in Glasgow with a Belvedere cocktail reception and amazing cake bouquets by Cake Cetera. The hotel was gorgeous, definitely one the most beautiful hotels I've been in. We stayed there for a couple of hours and even managed to catch a glimpse of Christopher Kane and Proudlock up close! We didn't manage to get a picture though as they were getting mobbed by girls but a couple of my friends did.

Overall, it was a great night and I'm hoping to be there next year too!

Thomas Sabo Candy Collectables

Thomas Sabo has recently launched its 'Candy Collectables' range, a collection of gorgeous neon and pastel coloured bracelets, bang on trend for SS12!

Last week I went shopping with my friend Emma and as soon as we entered the Thomas Sabo store, our eyes went straight to these and I ended up purchasing the neon orange one (obviously).

It only cost £16.95, which is quite cheap for Thomas Sabo. However, the sales assistant did explain to me that compared to some of their signature pieces these would not last as long and would probably only last me for the summer which I thought was acceptable as they were quite cheap.

I wore my bracelet out for Emma's 21st last Thursday which went great with my Model's Own beach party nail polish and my new New Look trouser's. You can see that outfit post here.

Since I purchased it, I've been wearing it almost everyday. It looks amazing with a tan and I think they'd look great stacked so I'll definitely be buying another colour!
I think they're great accessories for the summer and would be perfect on holiday or at a festival!

Here's a (bad quality) picture of it on the day I bought it!

What do you think of them?
