Happy New Year: Edinburgh Hogmanay Street Party

[Image from the BBC edited by me]

Happy New Year bloggers, hope everyone had a great night! As part of my Christmas, my boyfriend got us tickets to the Edinburgh Hogmanay Street party and booked us a little B&B for the night. I've always wanted to go to Edinburgh for New Year as I watch it on the TV every year and it looks so good. They block off all the streets and throw a huge party with live bands, lots of drinking and gorgeous fireworks. This year there was over 75,00 people there and the atmosphere was amazing.

We arrived at our B&B about half 2 which was about a mile outside the city and decided to go a walk and get some lunch. We found a little cosy pub called The Orchard which a had a lovely lunch menu. I went for the salmon and he got the black pudding with smoked bacon, poached egg and Hollandaise sauce which was amazing, much better than mine and I was jealous.

After lunch and a little glass of Pinot Grigio , we walked back to our B&B to get ready and have a few more drinks. I'm always used to getting dressed up for New Year's Eve but since we were going to be outside all night and it was freezing I had to wear something warm. I wore my disco pants, lots of layers, my favourite jacket with my tartan H&M scarf and New Look hat -I had so many layers on and was still freezing! I kept my makeup simple and did a rose gold smokey eye with my sister's Naked palette and wore MAC Pink Nouveau on my lips. I still managed to wear my my hair extensions and false lashes though!

We left to go out about half 6 and headed to the ticket office to pick up our tickets then stopped in for some dinner at Garfunkel's and had a burger and chips and a beer to set us up for the night. We got down to Princes Street about 8pm with our bag of Woo Woo cocktail to get a good spot for the music and fireworks. We ended up getting a really good view of both the stage and Edinburgh Castle where all the fireworks were going off. The fireworks where the most amazing I've ever seen and Edinburgh's such a gorgeous city, I'd definitely go back for New Year next year!

This was probably the best New Year I've ever had, everything was perfect. What did you do for New Year? Hope everyone had a good one!
