When I go on a night out I never feel done up without my tan, eyelashes and hair extensions. I've been wearing clip-in hair extensions for about 7 years, ever since I was 16. I've always had long hair so the extensions have never been to add length, I just use them to add volume as my hair is really flat and fine.

When I was given the chance to try out a 3/4 wig from Wonderland Wigs I was so excited as my sister has one and I've always wanted to get one for myself. As I always wear my hair with a bit of a curl/wave I chose the Layered Flick 3/4 Wig* and one of the lovely girls at Wonderland Wigs colour matched me to the shade 8H12/24 Mixed Brown Blonde Highlights. I'd always been reluctant to buy one of the 3/4 wigs as I never thought I'd get one to match the colour of my hair but this shade ended up matching my hair perfectly and looked really natural.

Wonderland 3/4 wigs come in a range of different colours and styles to suit everyone and the particular wig I chose is double volume with natural flicks and layers. Each wig has two hidden flexi combs at the front and back (which you can see in the photo above) that slide into the hair to hold the wig securely and comfortably in place. To put it in you simply section off the front part of your hair, slide the wig into place and then backcomb the front section over it to hide the line where the hair and the wig join. I like to add a few kirby grips (bobby pins) to make sure the wig definitely wont budge when I'm out.

This particular wig isn't real human hair, however you can get real human hair from Wonderland Wigs which are a bit pricier. Despite it being synthetic, it still looks really natural and you can keep it maintain by using special wig shampoo and conditioner that you can also purchase on the webiste. The standard length of my wig is 28 inches, however I cut a couple of inches off the bottom to make it roughly the same length as my natural hair.

I've wore this out on two nights out so far and I'm absolutely loving it, it's so much easier and quicker than clipping in rows of extensions. Moroccanoil Treatmeant

Moroccanoil Treatment 25ml* - £12.85

I know I'm really late trying this product, but I'm so happy I eventually did. As my hair is dyed and I use a lot of heat on it, it's not in the best condition so I've found using hair oils has improved it. It's also getting quite long so sometimes I find it hard to manage. I've tried a few hair oils in the past but I have to say Moroccanoil is definitely a winner.

As a Cosmopolitan and Vogue Beauty Award winner, this miracle oil is a much sought after hair product and a favourite in the blogging community. For anyone who doesn't already know (if you don't, where have you been?), Moroccanoil is a hair treatment enriched with argan oil that promises to improve your hairs manageability, shine and long term condition. It also protects hair from UV rays and air pollution and if that's not enough, because oil repels water particles it can reduce your drying time by up to 50% which means less heat and more importantly, less damage.

I've been using this product for about a month now and use it on both wet and dry hair. I usually rub a 5p sized amount between my palms and run it through the bottom two thirds of my hair, avoiding the roots before I blow dry it. You can also use it on dry hair so sometimes instead of straightening it after I blow dry it I apply a small amount to the ends to smooth down any flyaways or dry ends. Since using this my hair has been much softer, manageable and even looks in better condition. It also smells amazing (like holidays) and leaves my hair looking super shiny. I was a bit skeptical at first as I was worried it would leave my hair looking limp (you know I'm all about the volume) but the weightless formula ensured that this wasn't a problem. I will continue to use this little bottle until it runs out and will no doubt treat myself to a full sized bottle in the future.

phil smith BE GORGEOUS: Big It Up! Range

As someone that has fine, poker straight hair I find it really hard to get that bounce and volume that I always desire. If there's a hair product out there with the word 'volume' written on it, I've probably bought it and to be honest not a lot of them have impressed me. So, in my strive for big hair I've been trying out some new products for the past 3 weeks - the phil smith BE GORGEOUS, Big It Up! range*

BE GORGEOUS is a new range exclusive to Sainsbury's that caters for everyone's hair needs whether you're looking for volume, shine, moisture or heat defence. There are also products for coloured hair and different types of hair (straight, curly) so there really is something for everyone. As the only problem I really have with my hair is that's its flat and lifeless, I decided to go for volume which is perfect for flat or fly-away hair.

There are five products in the Big It Up! range:

Volume Boosting Shampoo & Conditioner £3.99*: Together these products add volume and fullness to limp hair with the weightless conditioner adding a gorgeous shine. I only usually wash my hair 2-3 times a week but when I was on holiday I had to wash it every day because of the sand, sea and chlorine etc. so I was worried that conditioning it so much would weigh it down. Surprisingly I did not find this at all with this product and my hair stayed big and bouncy all night which I was really impressed with. I'd repurchase both of these products as I've found that they work really well with my hair.

Volume Boosting Spray £4.09*: I find the volumising spray the most convenient product to work with, a few spritz and you're good to go. I like to spray this in my roots, comb through and blow dry my hair upside down for maximum volume. I've used this in the photo above but I'd taken the picture after a full day at work so it has lost some of the volume but usually my hair is stuck flat to my head by this time! It definitely adds bounce to my hair which I don't usually get from just blow drying alone.

Volume Boosting Mousse £2.99*: I'm not a big fan of mousse as I can usually still feel it in my hair once it's been blow dried and it weights it down a lot. However, this particular mousse feels really light in my hair which surprised me but I think I'd still rather go for the spray over it. Personally, I've just always prefered spray or cream over mousse so I don't think I'd repurchase this.

Thickening Volume Cream £4.09*: Out of all three of the styling products I'd say this one is my favourite. I love the cream formula which adds volume as well as texture to my hair and I tend to use this one when I'm going out as it holds my style all night. This would definitely be something that I repurchase as I've never found a styling product that thickens my hair as much as this one. It does say on the tube that it's for short to medium styles but I love how it works on my long hair.

During the day I'd normally just blow dry my hair and leave it but when I'm going out I like to backcomb it and I feel like these products have really helped to hold it in place. Overall, I'm really impressed with this range, especially the shampoo and conditioner and the thickening cream. My Hair: New Hairstyle & Products I Use

I've had the same hairstyle for years - blonde and pretty much all one length, so when it was time to go to the hairdressers again (well overdue) I decided I wanted something a bit different. I ended up getting it a little bit darker and got some low lights put through it to give me a nice caramel colour. I also got some layers cut in and a little middle parting fringe which I love.

Getting a new hairstyle inspired me to write a little post on the products I use in my hair so I hope you enjoy reading it. At the moment I'm using Aussie Aussome Volume shampoo and conditioner which I've used a couple of times before. I have quite fine, limp hair and I'm forever trying to get some volume in it and this shampoo does the trick. I love Aussie products, especially the smell of them and once a week I use the 3 Minute Miracle Luscious Long treatment to keep my hair in top condition. I like to keep my hair long so I try to look after it so I can get as little as possible cut off it each time.

For styling, my two favourite products at the moment are from the VO5 Plump It Up range. Before I dry my hair I put in the weightless mousse which also has heat defence in it. After I blow dry my hair I put in the Dry Backcomb Spray (mentioned in my March favourites) to give my hair some volume then either straighten or curl the ends. Right now I like my hair to have a bit of bounce in it so I usually curl the ends with my straighteners.

To finish off my hair I use Elnett Satin hairspray which is my favourite, it doesn't weigh my hair down at all and brushes out easily and then I apply some of the Aldi Miracle Oil (£4 dupe for Moroccan Oil) to the ends to smooth them. Sometimes I use the Miracle Oil before I blow dry if my hairs feeling a bit dry and needs some conditioning. Then every second (ok and third) day I'll use my Batiste dry shampoo to freshen up my hair between washes. This is a must have product and if I run out I need to go straight out and buy another bottle. Right now I'm loving the lace one, it smells amazing but I also like the Tropical one for summer.

How To: My Weekend Hair

A few people have been asking me how I do my hair for a night out and if I could do a blog post on it, so I've finally decided to do it. It was quite hard to show you in photos but if there's any questions just ask in the comments - it's actually really simple!

What I use:

• Velcro rollers
• Clip in hair extensions
• Dust it/Plumping Powder
• GHD straighteners 
• Denman backcombing brush
• Volumising Hairspray

Step 1: I start by sectioning my hair and putting in velcro rollers and if I have time I'll put them all over my head but if I'm in a rush I'll just put them at my crown to add volume. I then heat them up with the hair dryer and spray in some hairspray to set it. I usually do my makeup and things while my rollers are in then take them out about an hour (ish) later.

Step 2: Once I take my rollers out, I start clipping in my extensions. I have 10 pieces so I just start from the bottom and clip 2 in each layer of hair. My hair is only a couple of inches shorter than my extensions and I mainly use them to add thickness to it as it's quite thin.

Step 3: Once my extensions are in I curl them using my GHD straighteners. You can also use curling tongs but I feel like my curls last longer using straighteners, they tend to fall out if I use tongs. My extensions are usually still curly from the last time so sometimes I don't need to do much to them.

Step 4: Once my hair is all curled, I like to add some Osis Dust It or TRESemme Plumping Powder to my crown as it helps give my hair volume and also helps the backcombing stay in.

Step 5: I use my Denman backcombing brush (which is amazing) to backcomb my hair at the crown in sections. I then smooth my hair over the top of the backcombing to hide the birds nest!! 

Step 6: I finish off my hair with loads of hairspray to hold it in place then use my hands to mess it up a bit.

So there you go, that's how I do my hair when I'm going out and as you can see it's actually really easy. Hope this post helped the girls that asked how I do my hair :)
