Last night I went to the Cheryl Cole concert (eek!) at the SECC in Glasgow. If you don't know already I'm in love with her. When we got there we realised that we were quite far away from the stage but we ended up moving up to 5 rows from the front as my very lucky friend got moved to the front row and gave us his other tickets!!  First of all Cheryl is even more beautiful in real life if that's even possible, we ended up right up at the barrier for the finale and could almost touch Cheryl (I almost cried).

She put on such a great show with lots of dancing and swan diving off the stage - her dancers are amazing! She sang all of her best known songs along with a few new ones from her new album. She also did a little Girls Aloud Medley which I loved. There was a bit where Will.i.am was projected on the back wall so they could sing 3 Words together. My favourite songs she sang were Under The Sun and The Flood. Cheryl had 5 outfit changes but I think her first gold jumpsuit was my favourite, she looked stunning in it. Her hair and makeup were absolutely flawless.

So overall, I had such an amazing time at the Cheryl concert and I'm so excited for Girls Aloud to get back together - definitely need to go see them! I still can't believe how close we managed to get to Cheryl as well. Are any of you going to see Cheryl this year or have already seen her?

Foxy Locks Hair Extensions

                                              Before                                                                     After

For ages I'd been wanting to try the Foxy Locks hair extensions as I'd seen so many great reviews on them on lovely beauty blogs. Foxy Locks is owned by the gorgeous Imogen and her hair always looks amazing. My current extensions were getting so old as I wear them every time I go a night out so I decided it was time to buy some new ones. My hairs quite long already but I like to use extensions to add thickness as it's quite thin. I went on the foxy locks website to look at the colours and was really unsure which one would match my hair. My hair is naturally dark brown and I've been getting it highlighted for years so all the colours on the website looked too much of a block colour for me. I emailed a picture of my hair to the hair match service and they emailed back saying my best match was #20 Caramel Blonde, so I went for it and ordered them.

The Foxy Locks extensions come in three styles; Regular (120g), Deluxe (160g) and Superior (215g). I asked a few bloggers who already had them what they suggested I should get and since my hair isn't very thick I just went for the 120g ones which cost me £56.00. I though this was a very reasonable price and it's around what I'd usually pay for hair extensions.
The 120g extensions are 20 inches long have 10 pieces:

  • Two x 8" wide with 4 clips
  • Two x 6" wide with 3 clips
  • Two x 4" wide with 2 clips
  • Four x 2" wide with 1 clip

The extensions arrived in 3 working days in lovely pink packaging (sorry I threw it out before I could take a picture). When I opened them and saw the colour I knew straight away they'd be too blonde for my hair. However, they did feel gorgeous and the quality was really good, much thicker than any hair extensions I'd tried before. So about the colour...as foxy locks don't do extensions that have blonde and brown colours through them my mum suggested that I put a few low lights through my Caramel Blonde ones. The blonde in the extensions did match the blonde in my hair so if I added some light brown low lights, I was sure they would match. You can go on the Foxy Locks website here and see how the extensions looked before I dyed them.

I went into my local Superdrug and bought a cheap £2.99 light brown dye and a pin tail comb, I already had some tin foil and a mixing bowl and brush in my house so I was ready to put some low lights in my extensions with the help of my Mum! I decided to do a few low lights every so often through the extensions as you can see in the pictures above. I used the pin tail comb to pick up some strands of the hair to dye, applied the dye with the brush and wrapped it in tin foil for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes I washed the extensions with shampoo and conditioner in my sink, dried them and voila! they matched my hair perfectly.

I took a before and after picture above and as you can see they don't make my hair much longer but they do add thickness to it - perfect for a night out. You can also see the brown low lights I put through and how it looks more natural that just a block colour.

Have you ever had problems finding extensions to match your hair colour or have you tried Foxy Locks Extensions?
